Getting Started

Taking the first steps to being a home owner will set you up for success and speedy results from a mortgage broker/loan officer and underwriting.

Here are some document’s you’ll need:

  • Two years of pay stubs
  • Last two years of tax paperwork (1040/1040EZ)
  • Last 2-3 months of bank statements
  • A picture of your ID, Drivers license, or Passport
  • Rental agreement
  • Gift letters – a gift letter is an explanation of funds given, typically by family, non-profit, or grant source that are not loans.
  • If you receive disability (e.g. VA, LE, etc) be sure to include these documents, as these are highly recommended and guaranteed sources of funding.
  • Low income funds
    – Note: you will NOT be discriminated against if you’re provided with government assistance. Those who are receiving assistance can still qualify for home loan.

Be sure to scan and save these documents via .pdf or .tiff for the mortgage broker/loan officer.
